Event Details

Water School 2012 is designed to educate community leaders, natural resource managers, and decision makers about current issues and future concerns regarding water quality, quantity, and conservation in Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough Counties. This two-day, interactive program aims to encourage improved public policy decisions relative to water issues in these counties and throughout Florida.

 

Day 1:  September 11, 9:00am-3:00pm

9:00     Coffee and Refreshments 

9:15       Introduction: Critical Water Issues

9:30      Keynote Speaker: Chris Martinez,  UF Water Institute

10:15     Break   

10:30    Panel Session: Water Challenges in our Region

12:00    Lunch   

1:00       Interactive Watershed Activity

 

Day 2:  September 12, 9:00am-5:00pm

9:00     Field Trip: Meet at Keller Water Treatment Facility, Tarpon Springs

11:30    Lunch at Brooker Creek Preserve

12:30   Field Trip: Tampa Bay Seawater Desalination Plant, Gibsonton

5:00     Conclusion of Tri-County Water School
